A touch of Spring

Hallo eveyone, even though I still have not any blogger friend, but it is my fault. This is only my second post and I rarely leave a comment on all the blogs I visit. I'll try not to be so shy in the future and search a real contact to letme know.
We are having a start of spring here in Rome...flower blossoms and a sudden warm air.

The end of the Christmas season

Hallo everyone!
Here in Italy the Christmas celebrations end on the 6 th of January, the "Befana" day, in religious terms the coming of the Three Kings before the Infant Jesus.
Befana is a well known carachter for all children in the Italian Christmas tradition. She is a nice old woman, in some way similar to our dear Santa Claus because she also is a "giftbringer". All dressed up in simple, wornout country gown, shawl and very old shoes, she flies the whole night between the 5th and 6th of January on her broomstick, filling stockings with  goodies for the good and "coal" for the naughty.  Good boys and girls can often find some little presents in addition to the sweets.
It is a very lovely way of closing the Holiday Season, a jolly and a little sad day, for kids and adults as well!
